Chicago Prostate Cancer Center Physicians and Staff
In 2017, we celebrated 20 years of focused prostate cancer treatment with our radiation oncologists, Drs. Brian Moran and Michael Stutz, who specialize in the disease of prostate cancer. They offer evidence-based recommendations from the most current research data, which assures patients that they have the most up-to-date information possible. All of our oncologists have years of experience in prostate cancer treatment. They have spoken at national conferences, published articles in numerous medical journals and proctored other physicians on brachytherapy both in the U.S. and internationally.
Our physicians are also pioneers in the development of prostate cancer diagnosis, having created the new and highly effective Stereotactic Transperineal Prostate Biopsy (STPB). STPB is performed by comprehensively taking a greater amount of samples of the prostate through the perineum while the patient is under general anesthesia. Performed as an outpatient procedure, it allows more comprehensive sampling compared to the transrectal method, which takes fewer samples through the rectum. In addition, by taking more samples during STPB, the exact location of the cancer can be pinpointed.
